K-9'S FOR KIDS PEDIATRIC THERAPY UNIT

Welcome to the K-9's for Kids Pediatric Therapy Unit, a 501c3 volunteer, a non profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of kids throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. This incredible group of dogs and handlers donate their time to bring smiles and joy to children suffering from a wide range of physical, emotional, and learning disabilities through social contact and engaging interactions. K-9's for Kids teams currently offer approximately 30 visits a month servicing many local agencies including Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, The Robert F Kennedy Children Action Corps, the Westfield school system, the Westfield Anthenium's children's library,  numerous camp and after school programs, and reading assistance programs. We also offer demonstrations to school and child based facilites about dog safety, training, responsible dog ownership, grooming, puppy and dog selection, and how to be your dog's best friend.

All of our dogs are owner handled and trained, and have successfully passed all of the requirements necessary to certify with the unit. Our insured, working teams are clearly identified during visits wearing a K-9's for Kids uniform vest and canine bandana, and arrive at all visits freshly groomed and excited to work.

Please feel free to contact us for more information about joining the unit, or having us visit your facility!
